DUE TO CONTSTRUCTION, HEWITT PARK WILL BE CLOSED 24/7. THIS INCLUDES ALL ACCESS FOR CAMPING, DAY USE, AND BOAT LAUNCHING. IT WILL REOPEN IN MID-DECEMBER 2024.


HOLCOMB PARK REMAINS OPEN FOR CAMPING UNTIL DECEMBER 2024. THE RESTROOMS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FREEZING TEMPERATURES MAKE US CLOSE THEM. THE BOAT RAMP IS OPEN AND “USE AT YOUR OWN RISK” DUE TO LOW WATER LEVELS. HOLCOMB PARK WILL CLOSE FOR THE WINTER SEASON WHEN HEWITT PARKS IS RE-OPENED.


THE SAFETY OF PARKS USERS AS WELL AS THE CONSTRUCTION CREW IS THE TOP PRIORITY. DO NOT ENTER HEWITT PARK. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED.

Park Overview

Hewitt and Holcomb campgrounds features an excellent warm water fishery experience on the banks of the Powder River arm of the Snakes Rivre's Brownlee Reservoir. The RV and tent campsites make excellent base camps as you explore the North East corner of Baker County.

Brownlee Reservoir offers fishing, water, recreation and boating. For fishing information, check with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Current water levels are posted on the Idaho Power website.

The park is open for day-use year-round. The day-use area features a wide, paved boat ramp, fish cleaning station and viewing deck. There are picnic areas for yo to enjoy. You may even see wildlife, including deer, proghorn, geese, eagles, chukars, and quail.

Seasonal Camping

Campground is open from about April 1 to September 30, weather permitting. Limited first-come, first-served camping may be available during the winter months. Check park advisories on this page for updates, or call the park. Campers may book reservations up to 12 months in advance by calling the Parks office.
